Let’s look back to the zeitgeist in the beginning of modern architecture whereas supposedly the milestone of architecture. Adolf Loos has declared in a very decisive way that ornamental architecture was like a tattooed Papuan savages and modern man who behaved like one is considered criminal. He said things that are natural to Papuan savages are symptoms of degeneracy in modern man. He also said very pompously, “I have freed mankind from superfluous ornament”. His idea of Significant Form had reinforced hostility when it has taken hold. He was somewhat forcing the evolution of ornamental/savages culture into the elimination of ornament from useful objects. Modern Architecture became undecorated and the great influential half truths converted into rules of design morality. He introduced this notion during the height of Viennese Art Nouveau which at that time he gave the impression more like a mad man. In his view, America was the promised land of technology and Americans were his ideal twentieth-century men. The striking art movement during the period of modern architecture such as Expressionism, Cubism, and Functionalism were some of the example of style that flourished after the World War 1. The tenement houses of phantasts of Dutch and German were the clamorous occurrence of Expressionism. In the beginning, Expressionism was a graphic movement and Cubism was the French equivalent of German Expressionism. Cubism at that time has undoubtedly daunted architects sincerely with the developed compositions of bare cubes and facades without any mouldings mediating between different Cubism building, France planes.
